Mohamed Hédi Charki is a Professor at EDHEC Business School where he teaches Management Information Systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science with a focus on Information Systems from Paris IX Dauphine University. His area of expertise in research focuses on exploring the impact of social media on employee creativity and well-being. He has been teaching for almost 20 years. He received academic awards such as the Award of Digital Innovation in Teaching in 2018 from EDHEC Business School. Since 2016, he has been using different ERPsim scenarios including Distribution with Master 1 students, Extended Manufacturing and more recently Logistics Sustainability with Master 2 students.
He likes the way ERPsim allows students to connect the different business areas of a company through a single information system.
Logistics sustainability is a unique moment where my students experience how to use ERP and business analytics to make environmental engagement a reality.
The extended manufacturing game is a nice simulation that shows the connectivity of the different disciplines, differents business decisions in one game.
Using ERPsim in Class
He uses ERPsim to show his business school students how an SAP cloud-based ERP system helps decision making and has a direct impact on company bottom-line. ERPsim is a great teaching moment where students see how information systems can help collaborative decision making and real-time business analytics. As a professor of information systems, ERPsim allows him to put theory into practice. Thus, it shows, in a concrete way, the importance of the information system on the performance of a company.
My students love applying in practice the concepts that they were introduced to during the case-based sessions about ERP adoption and implementation.
ERPsim is a great moment to discover SAP ERP which is a great plus for my students when they are entering the job market. This makes my students’ profiles more attractive on the job market. One particular example that I kept in mind was when one of my students discovered SAP ERP through ERPsim and appreciates the game to the extent that she obtained a position as a consultant in digital transformation at a leading consulting company.
One of my students got an interview at one large consultant company and this interview was about ERP that she appreciates thanks to ERPsim and then and she got the position.
